  • 800 g thinly sliced rump steak or sukiyaki-style cut
  • 1 large white onion finely sliced

  • Cooked rice as needed
  • 1 tsp sesame oil

Step 1: Prepare the Sauce

  • Start by melting the unsalted butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Once it’s melted, whisk in the flour mixed with water until smooth. This creates a roux, which will help thicken your sauce.

Step 2: Mix the Ingredients

  • Gradually add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and hoisin sauce to the roux. Keep stirring, then pour in the 1 1/2 cups of water. Allow it to simmer gently. Next, add the honey and rice vinegar, stirring until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency.
